La Viola Pasta Sauce
La Viola Pasta Sauce, available in three distinct flavors, is the creation of Lino Viola from original family recipes. Lino and his wife Elsa have been devoted restaurateurs serving the Cedarhurst, Long Island community for more than thirty years.

Lino's mother, Maria Viola, lovingly developed this pasta sauce more than 100 years ago in her ancient Italian home in Parma, in the region of Emilia-Romagna. It is out of this tradition that the sauce is produced today. The same 100% natural products are used today, as they were when Maria Viola first developed the sauce. Only the finest of imported San Marzano plum tomatoes are used. Lino takes personal responsiblity for importing the tomatoes. They are the same great tomatoes that can be found in any of the fine cuisine served at La Viola restaurants.

Our first restaurant opened in 1977,
and although many things have changed since then, we still are focused on the same mission of providing quality, value and service to our loyal customers. Our restaurants have been widely recognized for offering fine Italian cuisine; each one boasts the same adherence to authentic Italian recipes using all-natural ingredients in the preparation of their culinary fare.

Aside from the fabulous quality of the La Viola entrees, there are the unique events that Lino schedules for the entertainment of his customers. Live Opera/Broadway Night has distinguished La Viola as a place of not only fine food, but of fine entertainment. Customers have come to look forward to attending the monthly live music night which stars internationally-acclaimed opera singers in a private dining setting. Lino and Elsa are also responsible civic leaders and citizens. They support many charities and are leading sponsors of Cedarhurst Town Park charity events, as well as Cedarhurst's town-sponsored Art in the Park.

 The New York Times - Dining columnist Joanne Starkey called La Viola "a weathervane of Long Island’s taste in Italian food" and "a leader in the family-dining trend." She described the staff as "exceptionally friendly and spiffily decked out in white shirts and red suspenders" but was far more concise about the fare: "Oh, what food!"
